FISH HOLDS/RSW COLD SYSTEM
The fish hold will be of the refrigerated type and will have a total capacity of 73.5m3.
The vessel must be equipped with an RSW refrigeration system, which, with a seawater temperature of 32°C, has the capacity to cool 42t of fish (sardines/horse mackerel) in 12 hours, placing said water at 0°C in the vessel’s holds.
The basement will be compartmentalized longitudinally and transversely with watertight GRP partitions, the compartmentation must be carried out in order to transport the fish in bulk in chilled water.
It will be subdivided into four compartments in order to reduce the effect of liquid mirrors on the vessel, as well as to be able to manage the supply and management of chilled water and fish on board.
It will be thermally insulated with polyurethane foam 150mm thick and 40kg/m3 of density, the flooring of the different compartments will be designed so that the flow of water is made to a point, from which it is discharged through a suction pump.
The fish will be placed onboard by a hydraulically operated immersion sucker pump, with 12″ hoses and clamps, using a stainless steel water/fish separator that is conveniently placed on a stainless steel structure on the deck, so that the fish run on stainless steel articulated gutters, to the different compartments of the hold.
The unloading of fish must be carried out using an identical procedure with the vessel’s pump or by a pump installed in the port of unloading.
The handling of the sucker pump must be carried out using a crane installed on the aft part of the vessel’s deck.
The compartments that make up the fish hold are connected to a valve plan in the engine room through high-density polyethene pipes, which allow the management of these spaces with regard to chilled water, placement of water for unloading the fish. and sewage from these compartments. This valve piano is connected to the electro pumps of the cold system.
